About Us

We founded this company based on our love for the power of the mind. It is the thread that ties everything together about what we do—we love coaching individuals and teams to use their minds to improve their performance.

Nita's passion and wisdom is the spark that keeps everything going. Josh's energy and peaceful nature brings it all together. As a team, they are a unique mother-son combo that uses knowledge of the brain to help individuals and teams dramatically improve their performance. It's a recipe that includes one part wisdom, two parts passion and fun; one part personal experience, two parts expertise and savvy. Mix it all together, and you have a sense of the soul of Polaris Performance Coaching.

Her passion to help others transform has led her to learn many of the tools that she now uses in her performance coaching practice.

Nita has worn many hats in the past, including college teaching and research. As director of the Torrance Center for Creative Studies she collaborated with scholars from across the world in the study of creativity and creative problem solving and sponsored the International Future Problem Solving conference, where children from across the world learned how to solve problems and become future leaders. She is a co-author of the book The Seven Keys to Freedom coming out this year.

In her spare time, Nita loves singing, playing the piano and dabbling in art. Her biggest passion is traveling with her husband and spending time with her three grown kids. She is patiently waiting for grand babies.

Performance Coach | Josh Matthews-Morgan
Josh Matthews-Morgan

Joshua Matthews-Morgan is a performance coach, speaker and the author of Deliver: How to Perform Your Best When it Counts the Most.

Josh has a passion and curiosity about learning what makes people tick. He has a unique ability to understand people from all walks of life and to help bridge their differences. This interest led him to spend time living and working in Argentina and South Africa. While in Argentina, he worked up close with managers and employees of major multinational companies like Dannon, Fiat and Prominente (a major Latin American software company) as a consultant.

Josh jumped into Latin culture headfirst and learned to speak Spanish fluently so that people wouldn't laugh at him and think he was a dumb "gringo." This also helped him understand some of his more melodramatic Latin coworkers and friends.

He graduated with degrees in International Relations and Spanish from Eckerd College. His college success and experiences abroad, plus his communication skills, led him to be named as the student "most likely to promote global understanding." He has spoken to different audiences on the importance of living as a global citizen of the world.

Josh has a passion for understanding organizational and team dynamics. He is a lifelong student of human potential. In his performance coaching, he loves seeing a team of people come together to create results that knock their socks off.

Josh expresses his artistic side when he's not working with companies to help them improve performance. He is a lifelong lover of music and is teaching himself to play the piano so that he can sing along to it. He has dreams of performing his own jazz/blues music on stage, once he gets around to creating it.
